Requiem For A Nightmare

Sudden lightning flash, resounding poetic memories –
Boundless kisses reflecting sunsets of dissolution.
A nostalgic aura, forever clouding the inchoate we,
Stone angel, closing her eyes to prismatic quiddity.
A magical lust, thus shrouded by vacuous vagaries –
Wanderlusting trust, waters roots of a sacred tree.
A perpetual bliss, aborted by this cruel resolution.
Stygian miasma blinds the path… to find infinity.

A black raven’s cawing, the shrill echoing midnight –
A first nail pierces the right hand, love martyred.
This preternatural conviction, ever grasp steadfast,
Lambent caresses persevere an anamnesia affliction.
Wept spinning labyrinthine, the soul’s ne’er fright –
Sudden cryptomnesia, blame for apology so bartered.
Shadows instead exact punishment, my visage downcast,
The torment of the second nail, verbal crucifixion.

Flashback to the future, the wanton whim dissipates –
Arrested exsanguination yields to sweet insouciance.
Resurrection revival, purges the sins of our sorrow,
Extinguish cursed double-cross, no more blank stare.
Mysterious be the Fates, unwise one who vaticinates –
Our scarred souls shall remain, imbued with esperance.
Flickering to roam, oscillations float to overmorrow,
However sweet song I sing, a requiem for a nightmare.
